Why Use Sulfate Free Shampoo

Posted by Pegi Bonner on

Using sulfate free shampoo is imortant. Sulfates are detergents and are just not a necessary ingredient for your shampoo.

You will find sulfates in your skin cleanser as well.

Sulfates can lead to dryness and skin irritation to your scalp. It can also fade that expensive coloring you had done at the salon. The fact that sulfates have been linked to hair loss was enough for me to stop using them...the jury is still out on that one!

All of our shampoo's are sulfate free, Volume Plus for fine hair,

Marula Oil for all hair, or for added color protection Color Extend Shampoo. With Janie 13 products, you don't have to compromise  what your hair needs in order to skip sulfates.

Using sulfate free shampoo is different than traditional ones and can be tricky.

Start the process by rinsing and wetting your hair thoroughly (very important).

Next apply a nickel size amount to the nape area and work up to the ears, add more for the rest. Massage your scalp with the pads of your fingers and add a little more water, not shampoo to complete the process. This will add a little lather as well, and if you were like me, and just HAVE to have a good lather, no worries because it's gentle you can shampoo twice. Make sure you use less the second go around as not to waste. HAPPY LATHERING!!!
